Chattanooga FC Academy is unveiling its new mission that focuses on six "Pillars of Success" as set by our director staff and refined with input from the Parents Council.

The purpose of publicly stating our mission is keep the membership informed and to ensure our entire coaching staff is speaking with one voice. This mission focuses on players first while recognizing the many other stakeholders:  coaches, parents, sponsors, and the Chattanooga soccer community as a whole.

DECISION-MAKING: Our players will train to become better decision- makers on and off the ball. They will be problem-solvers as individuals and as teams. Players learn to play with a purpose and use skill as a solution to the problem in that moment.

LONG-TERM DEVELOPMENT: Long-term development is more important than short-term wins or success, especially in the small-sided age. Possession with purpose, time of possession, and passing will be a greater measure of success than wins in younger ages.

TACTICAL-THINKING: Our emphasis will be to develop players to become technical masters and tactical thinkers. These concepts are taught together so players understand how to use skill while being aware of positioning and shape.

CHARACTER: We will create players who are committed, competitive, creative, inclusive, and show high character in everything they do. Training sessions will focus not only on becoming a better soccer player — but a better person.

PARENT PARTNERSHIP: More informed soccer parents are key to our success. When parents understand the club philosophy and support coaches, players can thrive. The Parents Council will guide many aspects of the club’s direction.

COMMUNITY: We will take the leadership role in growing and shaping youth soccer in the area. That includes supporting our rec association partners and opening new doors for players to experience the sport at all levels.

Throughout the coming months, CFCA will unveil a capital campaign project, new player initiatives, and enhance its assistance toward developing coaches. We are committed to growing this club in a way that will make a positive impact in the communities of Chattanooga, Cleveland, Signal Mountain, North Georgia, and all of the Tennessee Valley area.

"For a community our size to compete and develop players at the highest level it is important to unite more players and coaches under one mission," said CFCA Executive Director Matt Yelton.

Our club has doubled in size in just a few years and has a record number of college signings. The partnerships, infrastructure, and strategic plans are in place for the club to continue its leadership role in the Chattanooga soccer community.
