Two more Chattanooga FC Academy coaches have upgraded their coaching license as the club continues to take a long-range view of soccer development in the city.
Louis Thorpe and Danny McBride recently earned the National B License from the US Soccer Federation. The B License is the second highest coaching licenses available. Thorpe and McBride spent several months in classroom and field settings with some of the best coaches across the country.
The B Course focuses on the principles of long-term player development and developing a team.
In order to be considered for the U.S. Soccer B course, all applicants must have held the U.S. Soccer C License for at least a year, have three or more years coaching experience, and must currently be coaching a team.
The B course consists of three course meetings separated by two development periods. The total course duration is approximately 4-5 months.
Funding for this continuing education was made possible through our partnership with Nike.
