Six athletes from Chattanooga FC Academy 2004 Girls teams were among 72 players from across the state to attend this year’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) Camp.

L-R: Ford, Cason, Stalvey, CulbreathFrom the 2004 Premier team were: Molly Cason, Evie Culbreath, Blair Ford, and Zoe Stalvey.

Representing the 2004 Elite team were Kaitlyn Pope and Riley Robertson. Cason, Ford, Stalvey, and Robertson have been training with CFCA for several years while Culbreath and Pope are new to the club. Culbreath comes from Jackson (TN) Wolves and Pope joins the club from Middle Valley.

Kaitlyn Pope"I had a really good time and I learned several new things,” said Pope.

“I'm new to Chattanooga FC Academy and enjoyed meeting several of the 2004 girls."

This was the state’s sixth annual ODP Academy Camp. Players stayed two nights at Baylor School last weekend to train for three days. The camp is an opportunity to prepare players for the ODP program and give parents insight into the program and the process.

Stalvey“ODP Camp was just a great experience,” said 12-year-old Stalvey. “From meeting new friends to going against some of the best soccer players in Tennessee.”

Players from Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis, Tri-Cities and areas between received quality instruction from college and ODP staff coaches in a challenging, positive environment.

The athletes also got to stay in dorms to receive a taste of what it is like to be away from home for a soccer camp.

“It was fun,” said 12-year-old Riley Robertson.

This program identifies players of the highest caliber on a continuing and consistent basis. Tennessee Soccer oversees the program so the best players may qualify for Tennessee Soccer ODP, US Youth Soccer Region III ODP and US National Team programs.

Parents are allowed at check-in on Friday but then cannot be present for training Friday night or all day Saturday. Parents return on Sunday morning to watch games to end the camp.
