Another huge weekend for CFCA teams

The Scenic City Cup hosted 215 teams and 367 games this weekend. The real winner was Chattanooga FC Academy, which led the way and showed the region select soccer in Chattanooga is stronger than ever.

The club placed more teams in the finals than any other local soccer program. The u12 and younger teams were 7-0 in their finals. Five boys teams advanced to a final and three won. Eight girls teams advanced to their finals, where four of them won.  

u8 Boys Gold Division

The CFCA 2008 South won the final with 5-1 result over Middle Valley's team of the same age group. The boys worked on possession on the way to a 17-1 victory over Lookout Mountain FC.  

u10 Boys 8v8 Gold Division
Our 2006 Premier team dominated play in the 8v8 Gold Division, including a 4-0 final over United SC's Mike Latty Soccer Academy team from Alabama. The previous day included a 5-1 win over Knoxville FC Crush Atletico.  

u11 Boys Gold Division
The 2005 Premier team only surrendered one goal all weekend and it was in a 3-1 win over CSC 05 Boys Maroon in the final. It outscored opponents 17-1 for the weekend.  

u13 Boys Gold Division
The 2003 Premier team faced a tough Dalton Roadrunner FC Premier team in the final and fell 5-1. It had a great weekend with 1-1, 7-0, and 1-0 results on the way to the final.  

u14 Boys Gold Division
The 2002 Premier team finished second in points against a strong division of competition.  

u9 Girls Gold Division
The 2007 Premier Girls shut out Middle Valley in their final with a 2-0 result. This team made it to the final by cruising past Middle Valley in the opener 4-2, then 7-0 over United SC's Mike Latty Soccer Academy, and 5-1 in the semifinal against Red Star 06/07 Elite.  

u11 Girls Gold Division
Our 2005 Premier Girls took care of the top two teams from the two major clubs in Knoxville to win the u11 Gold Division. CFCA defeated Knoxville FC Crush 05 PSG 2-1 in the final. It began the tournament with a 2-2 draw with FC Alliance 05 Black before ending Saturday with a 9-0 win of Cherokee Impact's top team 9-0. The Sunday morning game brought a rematch with FC Alliance's top team. This time there was no draw. Chattanooga FC Academy defeated FC Alliance 2-1 to end that club's tournament.

u11 Girls Silver Division
Our 2005 Elite team also won their final in the Silver Division by a 5-2 result over Knoxville FC Crush 05 Marseille. It began the tournament with a 2- 1 victory over Middle Valley. 

u12 Girls Gold 11v11 Division
The 2004 Premier Girls had a dominating tournament weekend, only giving up one goal in the final minutes of its 5-1 semifinal victory. The team began the tournament with a 6-0 clinic against USC 04 from Alabama. The evening game was a 7-0 rout over Signal Mountain Storm 04. The semifinal was 5-1 decision over Cherokee Impact's top 04 team. The team saw its biggest challenge in the final against Bulls SC 04 from the Aikin, SC and Augusta, GA area. The score was 0-0 until the end of the first half when CFCA went up 1-0. The girls held on for the second half to win the final. 

u13 Girls Gold Division
It was a tough 3-2 loss in the final for our 2003 Premier team to Nashville FC 03 Atlas. The girls began the tournament with a 1-0 decision over local club McMinn United.  

u14 Girls Gold Division
The 2002 Premier team tied FC Alliance 02 TSL1 to advance to the final where they fell 2-0 to Athens (GA) United 02 Gold. It began the tournament with a 5-1 win over local team Nomads. 

u15/u16 Girls Gold Division
In a combined age group our 2001 Premier girls were unable to repeat to their earlier victory Tennessee SC 19 Premier. After defeating TSC in the opener 1-0, it fell to TSC by the same score in the final. In between, it drew 0-0 with Cherokee Impact's top team and defeated TSC's second team 2-0.

u19 Girls Gold Division
The 1998 Premier girls held its first three opponents scoreless on the way to the final where it fell to FC Alliance 98 TSL1 in an evenly matched game and a score of 2-1.
