CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (May 12, 2025) — The Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) Academy announced today that its senior academy girls platform will be competing and joining the Development Player League (DPL), beginning with the 2025/2026 season.
The move sees teams from the U13 to U19 levels upgraded to a national platform.
The DPL is a national league that provides elite competition for some of the country's top youth soccer programs. College coaches from NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA programs regularly attend DPL showcase events. For more information on DPL events, visit HERE.
Chattanooga FC Sporting Director Sebastian Giraldo, said: "I want to be direct and clear that this full national platform for our girls is due to the accomplishments of our CFC athletes and teams for the past years. Our Elite Girls Director Juan Hernandez dedicated himself to making this happen and we cannot be more ecstatic. This is a new era for our girls, and CFC will be representing the badge on the national stage in a great league that prioritizes the needs of our athletes, club and city.”
Chattanooga FC Academy Elite Girls Director Juan Hernandez, said: "We are entering a new era for our girls pathway, one built on consistency, vision and a commitment to long-term development. This is the natural next step in recognizing the incredible talent that has emerged from our community. These girls have earned the right to represent Chattanooga FC on a national platform, and now they’ll have that opportunity. With consistent programming, elevated standards and a clear path forward, we are building a foundation that will support our female athlete pathway for years to come."
DPL players can also still participate and compete in high school soccer.
Chattanooga will compete in the Georgia division of the Georgia-Carolinas Conference.
The U13 and U14 teams will play 16 matches home and away.
The format for the U15 to U19 teams is being finalized.
There is expected to be some inter-divisional matches between the Georgia and Carolina sides during the season, however, more information will be released next month.
