One of CFC Academy’s longest-serving coaches is a candidate to earn his USSF C License in time to begin the Fall Season.

Robb Wright is one of three CFCA coaches to be awarded the Chattahooligan Scholarship for Coaching Education this spring. Ron Senowech and Kaitlyn Sawyer are currently candidates for this summer’s USSF D License course.

"I’m a big believer in coaching education because the game is always evolving," said Director of Coaching Steve Hirayama.

"The way we teach the game has changed even in just the last few years. I want to continue the education process so we’re a progressive and modern club.” 

“I appreciate these coaches' loyalty to our club and their dedication to become even better coaches,” Hirayama added.  

The USSF C Course includes five days of on-site training followed by 6-8 weeks of assignments within the home club. It ends with a second set of five days of on-site training with other coaches from across the country. This course is designed for experienced coaches who want to enhance their training sessions, game management, leadership of players, leadership of teams, and management of the performance environment.

Senowech coached for Top Hat and Concorde in Atlanta before taking a few years off to start a family.

"I started coaching again when my oldest showed interest in playing and have been doing so ever since," he said.

Sawyer has been playing soccer since she was 7. She lettered all four years in high school and played in college until an injury. She has continued to play on a women's league in Chattanooga. She currently holds her E license through USSF and the NSCAA Level 6 Diploma.

"I have loved coaching and hope to continue improving as a coach alongside the girls as they improve in their game," Sawyer said.  

“I am grateful to the Chattahooligans and the everyone at CFCA who is investing to help me continue my coaching education,” said Wright.

“I had opportunities to coach elsewhere but I have always embraced CFCA’s desire to unite the soccer community as one. And I know it is only going to get better. I want to continue to be part of that.” 

Wright is a TSSA State Championship coach who has coached multiple levels within CFCA including the 04 Premier Girls, 06 Elite Boys, 08 Premier II Girls, and 08 Elite Girls. His teams have found success in some of the most competitive tournaments in the southeast. 

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Wright has been part of the local soccer community for more than 25 years. He also serves as the Head Soccer Coach for Hixson High School. 

Robb Wright has been married for 28 years. He and his wife, Amber, have one daughter who just graduated from the University of Alabama and another who is a senior in high school.
