Chattanooga FC 05 Premier I will travel to Las Vegas this weekend for the US Youth Soccer National League event. More than 100 teams representing 32 state associations and 68 clubs will compete to solidify division standings.
Chattanooga has one of only two teams in the event from Tennessee; the other is from Germantown near Memphis.
“This team has been the face and pride of CFC Academy for many years," said Coach Zeca Ferraz.
"I’ve known most of them since they were little, at CFC summer camps. It amazes me to see their development through the age groups."
Of course, fans of CFC will recognize Zeca as a star player for the CFC Men's team. Zeca has signed to return to CFC next year as the club moves up a level.
Zeca has seen first-hand how much the club has grown and he is quick to credit those who helped pave the way.
"Their accomplishments wouldn't have been possible if they haven't dedicated uncountable hours to their craft, which is now being recognized at the national stage. Also, we need to be thankful for the work of previous coaches and the effort of their parents who support them along the way."
Entering the weekend of play in Las Vegas…
The division winners in the 14U-18U age groups earn a place in the 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships, while the top two finishers in each of the 19U divisions also advance. The 2019 National Championships will take place July 22-28 in Overland Park, Kan.
Following the first two National League weekends, just two teams have booked tickets to the National Championships. With so many berths to Overland Park still on the line, there will be plenty to play for when the teams meet in Las Vegas.
