FAQ

CFC ACADEMY FAQ

Who are the coaches?

All coaches are paid, licensed and undergo a state background check each season.

How do I get information about getting my child involved with the Academy?

The CFC Academy will post the tryout dates at this link. Tryouts typically occur at the end of May and early June.

We are new to the area or currently play for another local organization and want to join CFC Academy in the middle of a season. Is that possible?

It depends. Complete this form and a coach will be in touch to discuss your options.

Does my child have to attend all tryouts to earn a spot on a team?

All potential players must attend at least one of the tryouts to be considered for a spot on the team. If there is a conflict in the dates, please make sure to contact the Director of Coaching to discuss the conflict.

Is my child guaranteed a spot on a team?

If your child is U12 and younger, we anticipate being able to accommodate all players within a CFCA-sponsored team. However, U13 and older players are evaluated at a higher level and team placement depends on competition and the size of the player pool.

How will teams be selected?

If your child is currently playing at CFCA , your current coach will give an evaluation of each player going into tryouts. In collaboration with that evaluation and the athelete’s performance at tryouts, selection will be made for ability level teams.

How much does it cost to play for the Chattanooga FC Academy?

There is a payment plan with several payment options to explain how much the fee will be for your player. It depends on the age group as well as how many months the team will participate. Click here for current fees.

How will my child’s location for practice be determined?

Most training sessions take place at Camp Jordan Park in East Ridge and Grimes Soccer Complex in North Chattanooga.

What is the difference between the Chattanooga FC Academy and Chattanooga Football Club?

Chattanooga Football Club was created in 2009 and is the city's professional soccer team. It competes in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) in a year-round schedule. The team has had great success over the last few years and through the team, the city of Chattanooga is showcased on the world soccer stage. The CFC Academy grew out of Chattanooga Football Club’s desire to train and develop the youth of Chattanooga and foster their love for the game of soccer. The Academy is the select soccer program for youth and will always be a branch of Chattanooga Football Club. Academy players with a jersey are always admitted to CFC home games free of charge.
